The Foreign Area Officer Association (FAOA) invites you to our next Distinguished Speaker Luncheon on Thursday, 27 April at the Fort McNair Officers’ Club.  The topic of our discussion will be The Turkish Predicament – Domestic and Regional Issues in a Critical Relationship.  Our guest of honor at the event will be Dr. Omer Taspinar, Professor of National Security Strategy at the National War College and Director of the Turkey Project at the Brookings Institution.  Dr. Taspinar is one of our country’s leading authorities on contemporary developments in Turkey and is a renowned authority not only on Turkey, but the European Union, Muslims in Europe, political Islam, the Middle East, and Kurdish nationalism as well.  He is a frequent media commentator on Turkish politics.
